The Safal Kisan SK-3FD is a powerful, self-propelled diesel reaper (also known as walk-behind power reaper or crop harvester) manufactured by Safal Kisan Trading Company, Jaipur, Rajasthan. This Made-in-India machine is specifically engineered for fast, efficient, and labor-saving harvesting of standing crops such as wheat, paddy, barley, gram (chana), mustard (sarson), soybean, moong, urad, bajra, jowar, and other similar cereals and pulses commonly grown in Rajasthan’s dryland and irrigated fields.
Powered by a reliable Greaves Cotton diesel engine (4-stroke, air-cooled), the SK-3FD delivers strong torque and consistent performance even in tough field conditions. The 3-belt drive system transmits power smoothly to the 4-foot (1200–1300 mm) cutter bar, which is equipped with sharp rotary blades and crop lifters. As the machine moves forward, the cutter bar cleanly cuts the crop at the base, while the lifters raise and guide the stalks onto the platform. The cut crop is then neatly laid in windrows (uniform rows) on one side of the machine, making it easy for workers to collect, bundle, and thresh manually or with a thresher.
Key Features & Benefits
- Powerful Greaves Diesel Engine — Proven reliability with low fuel consumption (0.7–0.9 L/hr) and long runtime per tank fill – economical for extended harvesting sessions in Rajasthan fields.
- Wide 4-Foot Cutter Bar — Covers more area in less time; clean cutting with minimal crop loss or lodging, even in dense or slightly lodged crops.
- Self-Propelled Walk-Behind Design — Forward/reverse clutch levers and throttle control for easy maneuvering; operator walks comfortably behind the machine with adjustable handle height for reduced fatigue.
- Uniform Windrow Laying — Automatically lays harvested crop in neat rows on one side – simplifies manual collection, bundling, and transport to threshing area.
- Multi-Crop Harvesting — Versatile for wheat, paddy, barley, gram, mustard, soybean, and other standing crops; adjustable blade height for different crop stubble requirements.
- Heavy-Duty Build — Sturdy steel frame, quality belts, and durable components ensure long service life even in dusty, dry Rajasthan conditions.
- Labor & Time Saving — Replaces 8–10 manual laborers; harvests up to 1 acre per hour in good crop conditions – dramatically reduces harvesting time and drudgery during peak seasons.
- Low Maintenance & Easy Operation — Simple controls, readily available spare parts in Jaipur markets, and minimal daily upkeep (oil check, belt tension, blade sharpening).
